New to Yoga – read on…
If you have never done yoga before then you will be in good company in the studio! More than 80% of students who join the yoga studio have no experience of yoga. To help you get into the swing of things we offer first time yoga students at Jai Yoga a whole month of unlimited yoga for R245. This includes all hot yoga classes, (Bikram and Hot Vinyasa) as well as the Ashtanga yoga and meditation classes. Your month of unlimited yoga classes will start form the first day you practice – you don’t have to start at the beginning of the month or any specific date. Some basic tips for your first yoga class
- Please complete the online registration and create a user account with us. Purchase the monthly trial and charge to your newly created account. Pay either in cash or via EFT. You can then book yourself into the class of your choice. By registering online you will save yourself time when you arrive at the studio and also help us in achieving our goal of becoming paper free. You can complete a paper registration and pay at the reception if you choose.
- Please arrive 20 minutes before class starts to meet the teachers and discuss any questions you may have.
- Wear comfortable clothing that you can move freely in.
- Avoid any meals at least 2.5 hours before you practice and ensure you are well hydrated.
- For Hot Yoga wear light tighter fitting clothes for your comfort as you will sweat a lot and baggy clothes may get in the way.
- Yoga is practiced barefoot. Our floors are made from pine and thoroughly cleaned after each class.
- You can buy water and rent a bath towel and a yoga mat if you do not bring your own.
- All classes are suitable for beginners except Ashtanga Primary Series on a Friday 6:30am. We recommend you do a few of the Beginners Ashtanga yoga classes that are held on Monday – Thursday 6:30 – 7:30am to get the basics of Ashtanga Yoga before joining the Primary Series yoga class. Also the Hot Vinyasa Level II classes on Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm require some understanding of Vinyasa yoga before you try them.
